SCINDICATE 2019
Total Technology Partners participated in the Defence Science and Technology Group (DST) SCINDICATE 2019 event on the 15th and 16th of August. The name SCINDICATE is a combination of the abbreviations, science (SC) and industry (IND), suggesting partnership and collaboration between science and industry organisations.
SCINDICATE is a premier “by invitation” annual partnership event that offers the opportunity to universities, research agencies and industry to participate in technology demonstrations, business match-ups, workshops, briefings and laboratory tours as well as opportunities for networking and forging new collaborations.
The theme of this year’s event was ‘partnering For Impact’ and focussed on a Next Generation Technologies Fund showcase with nine priority areas defined by the Defence White Paper 2016;
- Integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance;
- Space capabilities;
- Enhanced human performance;
- Medical countermeasure products;
- Multi-disciplinary material sciences;
- Quantum technologies;
- Trusted autonomous systems;
- Cyber; and
- Advanced sensors, hypersonics and directed energy capabilities
Total Technology Partners showcased their CRUSE simulator, developed in partnership with the Maritime Platforms Division of DST. CRUSE is an advanced control room simulator for the research and development of operational and command and control concepts for the crews of the future Australian Submarines to be built by Naval Group.
